Interjet said it will reactivate at least three of the routes it had suspended due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic during September and open six new ones.

The company detailed in a statement that it will reopen flights between Mexico City and two other destinations: Ciudad Juarez, in the State of Chihuahua, and Tuxtla Gutierrez, in Chiapas. It will also reactivate the route between the northern city of Monterrey and Cancun.

On the other hand, he said he will incorporate new markets that include the routes Chihuahua-Tijuana, Guadalajara-Hermosillo, Hermosillo-Tijuana, Ciudad Juarez-Monterrey, Monterrey-Chihuahua and Merida-Tuxtla Gutierrez.

Interjet, one of the three main airlines in the country and which prior to the pandemic operated flights to more than 50 local and foreign destinations, said it offers all its passengers quick COVID-19 tests, as well as KN95 masks.

The firm, like its rival Aeromexico, was seriously affected by the pandemic and was capitalized on in mid-July with $150 million to bolster its operations.
