A new aid budget presented Tuesday by the U.S. Senate does not include the country’s airlines and airports, Reuters reported.

More than 35,000 workers from two of the largest U.S. airlines – American Airlines and United Airlines – are on the verge of losing their jobs when the initial $25 billion in aid expires this month.
This has provoked protests by the unions to extend the aid for six more months.
The Senate bill also excludes $10 billion in airport aid that was part of an earlier bill.

U.S. President Donald Trump has floated the idea of airline aid without Congress taking action, but officials said last week that the administration has yet to reach agreement on the issue.
The proposal is expected to be voted on Thursday.
