FAA approves use Moderna vaccine by pilots and controllers.
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Saturday that it had approved the use of the Modern COVID-19 vaccine for pilots and air traffic controllers, Reuters reported.
The announcement follows the December 12 FAA approval for pilots and controllers to use the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine.

The U.S. aviation regulator said pilots and controllers should not fly or perform safety-related duties for 48 hours after receiving the doses. He also indicated that he “will monitor the patient’s response to each dose of the vaccine and may adjust this policy as necessary to ensure aviation safety.
On Thursday, groups representing aviation unions and American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and other airlines wrote to all U.S. governors asking them to “prioritize frontline aviation workers for vaccine allocation in their next implementation plan.
