LATAM reinforces domestic connectivity in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.

LATAM Airlines announced that it is strengthening its domestic connectivity in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru. In these four markets, the airline plans to restart 11 domestic routes in January, reaching as a group 770 daily domestic and international flights to 112 destinations in 16 countries.

With the resumption of 11 routes in domestic markets in Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru, LATAM Airlines Group estimates that its operation in January will be 40% compared to the same period last year.

Of LATAM’s subsidiaries, Chile is projecting a 30% passenger operation for January, due to the setback in the process of deconfinement of many areas of the country and the greater restrictions for both domestic and international transport.

All estimates are subject to developments due to the pandemic, as well as travel restrictions in the countries where the company operates.

During December 2020, traffic (measured in kilometers per passenger) was 34.5% compared to the same period last year, while available seats were 38.13% compared to the same month last year. The occupancy factor decreased by 8.4 percentage points to 75.2%.

In recent months there has been a gradual recovery in activity and the October and November 2020 operations were 26.8% and 33.4%, respectively, when compared to the similar period in 2019.
