Southwest Airlines said Monday that it had reached an agreement with aircraft manufacturer Boeing for 100 orders of the 737 MAX 7, with the first 30 jets scheduled for delivery in 2022.
As part of the deal, the company has also converted 70 firm orders for the MAX 8 into firm orders for the MAX 7 and added an option to purchase for an additional 155 aircraft.

Each 737 MAX 7 has a list price of approximately $100 million, although these aircraft typically sell for less than half their official value at typical market discounts, according to aviation industry sources.
Southwest’s order backlog changes result in a total of 349 orders and 270 options for the 737 MAX.
