U.S. aerospace giant Boeing again posted a loss in the third quarter of the year, as the rebound of its flagship 737 MAX aircraft was overshadowed by the struggles of the long-range 787 Dreamliner and Starliner space capsule.

The company, which had returned to green numbers in the second quarter after a year and a half of losses, posted a net loss of 132 million dollars between July and September.
Its sales amounted to US$15.13 billion in this period, up 8%, but below analysts’ expectations.

Commercial airplanes won orders for 70 737 MAX airplanes, 24 cargo airplanes and 12 787 airplanes, and 85 airplanes were delivered during the third quarter.
Between January and September, Boeing’s revenue increased 11% over the same period in 2020 to $47.493 billion (€40.893 billion), driven by higher commercial airplanes and services volume.
