Conviasa resumes flights between Havana and Managua on December 15.

Venezuelan airline Conviasa announced on Monday that as from December 15 it will resume its flights between Havana and Managua, which were interrupted due to the pandemic.

The company will fly twice a week between the Cuban and Nicaraguan capitals, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Managua will only require travelers to present a negative PCR of less than 72 hours.

This high demand is linked to the Nicaraguan government’s decision to eliminate the visa requirement for Cuban citizens, which facilitates travel for those who want to buy goods in Managua and resell them on the island, and for those who see the flight to the Central American country as a first stage in their emigration to the US.

The airline indicated on its web page that people who were affected by the suspension of flights in January 2021 will have preference to buy tickets.

According to Cuban media, as from January 1, 2022, the airline will sell tickets for this route normally.
