Indonesian airline TransNusa is set to take delivery of its first ARJ-21 regional jet from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac), making it the first overseas operator of the aircraft.
TransNusa’s livery ARJ-21 completed a pre-delivery test flight from Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport, Chinese media outlet Yicai.com reported.

This 90-seat GE CF34-10A-powered aircraft with a range of up to 3,700 km (1998nm) is widely used in China, but has not yet received international certification. However, Indonesia is one of the world’s largest commercial passenger markets. It has already validated Chinese-certified aircraft, such as the Xian Aircraft MA60.
China Everbright Group’s China Aircraft Leasing (CALC) signed an agreement in January to acquire 30 ARJ21s from Comac with options for 30 more. At the time it was revealed that the aircraft were destined for TransNusa.
CALC has a 35.68% stake in TransNusa through an indirect investment, according to the report.
