The Emergency Operations Committee (COE) reduced from noon on Monday to 30% the capacity in public areas of the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito, in order to try to stop the advance of the pandemic.
A source from the Quiport corporation told EFE that the capacity until midday was 50% and confirmed that only a companion can enter the terminal to receive or dismiss travelers.
→ Mexico: AIFA will operate only 6 commercial flights its opening day in March.
In the event that the permitted limit is reached, only those who are going to travel will be allowed to enter and must present their boarding pass or airline ticket at the entrance.
The city of Quito is the hardest hit by the covid-19 pandemic as it has accumulated 203,973 confirmed cases with the virus, so the COE has placed the city in red color due to the epidemiological risk it represents.
To enter any area of the airport it is required to present the vaccination card with the two doses, a measure in force since January 10.
