Austrian Airlines will renew its fleet with four A320neo.
Austrian Airlines is taking a major step towards modernizing and renewing its short- and medium-haul fleet. Between August 2022 and spring 2023, four Airbus A320neo aircraft will be integrated into the airline’s fleet.
The aircraft will be delivered directly to Austrian Airlines from a Lufthansa order and will replace older models in the A320 fleet.
→ Star Alliance named “Airline Alliance of the Year”.
The aircraft will operate on continental flights and initially on routes to London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
“Modern, fuel-efficient aircraft and sustainable fuels are the main levers for achieving our ambitious climate targets,” says Austrian Airlines COO Francesco Sciortino. “We want to halve our CO2 emissions by 2030 and operate CO2-neutrally by 2050, both on the ground and on board.” The new A320neo aircraft will not only reduce emissions, but also noise. The Neo’s takeoff is 50 percent quieter than comparable aircraft types.
