Spain’s Iberia continues to recover services and renew its in-flight product to improve its customers’ experience so that their flight, in addition to being safe, is also a pleasant experience.
Guaranteeing all safety, hygiene and prevention measures, and hand in hand with its catering supplier -DO & CO-, the airline has completely renewed its gastronomic proposal on short and medium-haul flights with a firm commitment to sustainability and digitalization.
In Business Class: richness of the Mediterranean diet with seasonal produce
In the design of its Business Class menus, Iberia continues to emphasize the richness of the Mediterranean diet and dishes with a Spanish flavor, using high-quality raw materials and local seasonal products.
→ Iberia will resume flights to Venezuela starting in March.
Depending on the time of day, the gastronomic proposal ranges from breakfast or snacks to lunch or dinner, and all of this under a careful presentation that includes new table linen and tableware.
Galician-style octopus, Russian salad, vegetable paella or stew are some of the appetizing options with which the airline wants to surprise its customers.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy a wide range of starters, hot options and desserts – which also includes vegan and vegetarian dishes – designed according to the schedule.
For breakfast, the current offer of scrambled eggs with sausages is complemented by a Spanish product such as ratatouille. Salad options increase with fresh options such as zucchini tagliatelle with pesto and feta cheese or sherry lentil salad with white garlic and Serrano ham. As for tapas, along with the traditional Spanish potato omelette, you can also enjoy homemade boletus croquettes, cocido madrileño, chorizo in cider or patatas bravas. Main courses include chicken in mushroom sauce with roasted baby potatoes, spinach lasagna or vegetable wok with rice. And finally, the sweet touch is provided by one of DO & CO’s star recipes, which has already become its hallmark, chocolate mousse, among other alternatives.
In Economy Class: fresh products with Deliverfly and a revamped menu card
For customers traveling in Economy Class, Iberia offers online purchase of fresh menus through Deliverfly -available through its website- and, in addition, complements its offer for this cabin by recovering the Onboard Purchase service with a renewed menu menu that includes drinks and sweet and savory snacks.
→ Iberia will fly to Dallas, Washington and San Francisco starting in June.
With Deliverfly, the company brings to the airplane a carefully selected gastronomic proposal that allows its customers to choose in advance of their flight the menu they want to enjoy on board from a wide variety of fresh, tasty and healthy products, prepared daily in the DO & CO kitchens.
Lasagna, pasta, salmon poke or Caesar salad, among others, are some of the hot and cold menus included in these menus, without forgetting other vegetarian and children’s options to satisfy all tastes.
Personalizing the menu online guarantees the customer that it will be available on board and that they will be able to enjoy their choice offered directly at their seat by the flight crew.
This initiative is also part of Iberia’s sustainability plan, as it contributes to better food management and waste reduction – since only what is going to be consumed during the flight is prepared and loaded – and, at the same time, by reducing the weight on board, fuel consumption and, therefore, CO2 emissions are also reduced.
The airline complements its gastronomic offer in the Economy cabin by recovering the Onboard Purchase service, which includes a new menu with a wide range of drinks and sweet and savory snacks.
In addition, to ensure safety and hygiene measures, payment is contactless by credit card. With much more intuitive software, cabin crew can manage the availability of products on board, on the one hand, and customers can pay via debit and credit cards, mobile devices and smart watches, on the other.
