Aeromexico announced that it will bring forward the start of operations at the new Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) in Mexico City to March 21, the day of the airport’s inauguration.
“After having carried out the necessary coordination with the authorities and administrators of the Felipe International Airport (AIFA) successfully and in less time than projected, the company informs that it will begin operations at the new air terminal as of its inauguration, on March 21,” the airline said in a statement.
→ Aeromexico will resume flights to London in April.
The company indicated that it will begin selling tickets next week with flights available to Merida and Villahermosa.
Initially, the airline had not planned to operate at the new airport, mainly because it did not adapt to its operating model. But on February 9, Aeromexico announced the two routes as part of an analysis of its customers’ needs.
In this way, Aeromexico became the third Mexican airline to confirm its presence at AIFA, after Volaris and Viva Aerobus.
