Delta to Hire More Flight Attendants

Delta Air Lines reported Thursday that it has opened the opportunity to hire additional flight attendants.

Since hiring and training ramped back up last year, Delta expects to have a total of 4,500 new flight attendants on the front line by the end of 2022. Another round of hiring will begin in the spring/summer, and 40 graduating classes are scheduled for this year – part of the company’s commitment to unparalleled customer service and emerging stronger from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“As we move our candidates through the hiring process faster, we expect to re-open this posting at a more frequent cadence,” said Jennifer Martin, Managing Director – IFS CX, Learning and Hiring. “We’re excited to continue growing Delta’s In-Flight Service team and welcome more flight attendants to serve our customers as the world continues to reopen.”

Note that if a candidate previously applied to the flight attendant position in August 2021 or January 2022 and was not selected to advance, they will not be able to reapply at this time. There will be an opportunity to reapply this summer.

WHAT’S REQUIRED TO BE A DELTA FLIGHT ATTENDANT?

Applicants must have a high school degree or GED, the ability to work in the U.S., speak English fluently and be at least 21 years of age by May 1, 2022. Prior to their training start date, all new-hire flight attendants must be fully vaccinated. Flight attendants must be willing to fly both international and domestic routes and be flexible, since Delta flights operate day and night, year-round. With a global network spanning more than 300 destinations, Delta also seeks applicants who are fluent in languages other than English, such as Danish, Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, Italian and Japanese.
