Russia’s federal air transport agency, Rosatiatsia, on Saturday extended for another five days the temporary closure of eleven airports in the center and south of the country, in force since last February 24, when Russia launched its “special military operation” in Ukraine.
“The regime of temporary restriction of flights to airports in the south and the central part of Russia has been extended until May 1, 2022,” the regulator said in a statement.

The airports affected by the measure, whose deadline before the new extension expired on April 25, are those of the cities of Anapa, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Guelendzhik, Krasnodar, Kursk, Lipetsk, Rostov-on-Don, Simferopol and Elista, EFE reported.
According to Rosaviatsia, all other airport terminals, both for domestic and international flights, are operating normally.
