Mexico’s Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) granted a concession title for the creation of a new airline called Aerus, which plans to begin operations in the first quarter of 2023.
The company will start operations in the northwest of the country with both domestic and international flights; its base of operations will be in San Luis Potosí, where it has been operating as an air cab company since 1990.

Aerus CEO, Javier Herrera García, commented that the company’s plan is to have national coverage by 2030, covering routes that other companies operate in the country.
“Since its beginnings in 1990, it served as an air cab permit holder based in San Luis Potosí and in this new stage its goal is to cover routes that no other airline currently operates and offer a variety of frequencies, to position itself as a regional business model and thus become a working partner for its customers,” he said in a statement.
The airline will use new generation Cessna equipment, aiming for a 50% Co2/Carbon reduction by 2033, demonstrating its commitment to the environment.
