LATAM Airlines announced Monday that it will resume the Porto Alegre-Lima route starting July 2 with 3 weekly flights. Currently, the company already operates 12 weekly flights to Lima (Peru) from São Paulo/Guarulhos and 3 weekly flights from Rio de Janeiro/Galeão. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the direct Porto Alegre-Lima flight inaugurated in December 2019 had not been operated since April 2020.
The route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft with capacity for up to 176 passengers (8 in Premium Economy class and 168 in Economy).
→ LATAM was Brazil’s most punctual airline in first quarter.
“We remain attentive to all opportunities to expand our operation in Brazil and abroad. Despite the slow recovery of the international market, the resumption of the Porto Alegre-Lima flight is a clear example of our commitment to offer more and better travel options and connectivity for customers from various regions,” explains Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil’s Sales and Marketing director.
The increase in LATAM’s offer in Rio Grande do Sul in May was made possible by the expansion of the Porto Alegre-São Paulo/Congonhas route (from 58 to 67 weekly flights). In addition, the company maintained its routes from Porto Alegre to Brasilia (12 weekly flights), São Paulo/Guarulhos (48 weekly flights) and Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont (13 weekly flights).
