AirAsia X announced Wednesday that it will fly from Kuala Lumpur to London, Dubai and Istanbul this year, marking a new era for low-cost long-haul air travel. At the same time, the airline celebrated the launch of four new routes to Japan and Hawaii.
With today’s announcement, the airline now offers flights on seven routes from Kuala Lumpur to New Delhi, Sydney, Seoul (Incheon), Tokyo (Haneda), Sapporo (Chitose), Osaka (Kansai), and from Osaka to Honolulu.
→ Turkish Airlines is renamed “Türkiye Hava Yolları”.
“This is an incredibly exciting day as Air Asia returns to the skies refreshed and rejuvenated,” said Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, chief executive officer of Capital A and founder of AirAsia X.
“The resumption of four popular medium-haul routes and the announcement of three new long-haul services are a major milestone after the most difficult time in aviation history.
“We are delighted to return to London and launch flights for the first time to Dubai and Istanbul, Kamarudin added.
