Wingo increases capacity, adds 435 flights between June and August

Wingo announces a powerful increase in capacity for the peak holiday travel season, which officially begins this Saturday, June 4 and runs through the end of August. The airline will make available more than 81 thousand additional seats, represented by 435 flights distributed between June and August.

“At Wingo we have excellent news for all those travelers who are designing their travel plans for the high season this 2022. We have made available more than 430 flights to a dozen destinations in Latin America for you to enjoy the best beaches in the Caribbean, the landscapes of the Andes and the purest nature in Central America. We will continue on our path to offer a cool, punctual service at low prices that are within everyone’s reach,” said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s CEO.

Wingo signs cooperation agreement with Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic.

The airline will implement this capacity expansion on 15 routes, two domestic and thirteen international, to continue positioning itself as the Colombian low cost airline with the most powerful route network in terms of outbound travel options.

More seats to fly to the Caribbean

Aruba, Cancun and the Dominican Republic will now be closer to Colombians. On the Bogota-Aruba route, there will be a 44% increase in the capacity offered. Travelers who want to enjoy the beaches of Cancun will now have 10,788 additional seats, representing a 19% increase. These flights to this Mexican paradise will be offered from Medellin and Bogota.

On the other hand, the airline will offer 18,972 extra seats between Colombia and the Dominican Republic, increasing its capacity in this market by 26%. These increases will be distributed among the routes connecting Bogota and Medellin with Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.

New flights to enjoy Ecuador and Costa Rica

For travelers who love nature and the attractions of the Andes, Wingo will offer additional flights to San José, Quito and Guayaquil from Bogotá. To enjoy the capital of Costa Rica, capacity will be increased by 31%. On the other hand, to visit Ecuador, the airline will add 33% more seats to Quito and an additional 27% on flights to Guayaquil.

15% more seats to visit Panama

Wingo will have additional seats on routes connecting Panama City with Bogota, Cartagena and Medellin. The airline has placed 13,518 seats on these three routes, thus generating a 15% increase in the available supply. In this way, the air traffic between Colombia and Panama, which historically has been one of the international connections with the highest flow of travelers, continues to be boosted.

More options to fly to Cartagena and Santa Marta

For those tourists who want to enjoy their vacations in the paradisiacal national beaches, Wingo also thought of them and will have additional flights to these two Colombian Caribbean cities. For Cartagena there will be 12,804 additional seats from Bogota, with an increase of 26%, and for Santa Marta there will be an additional offer of 11% in flights.
