Avianca reveals special livery in tribute to equality

In a tribute to diversity, equity and inclusion, Avianca donned the pride flag. In one of its Airbus A320 the airline presented a new design that alludes to the colors of this insignia.

With this aircraft, the airline reiterates its long history in matters of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:

More than 32 nationalities make up the company.
47% of employees are between 20 and 40 years old and more than 30% are between 41 and 60 years old.
5,147 women are part of the company -186 of them hold management positions, 99 are pilots and 211 are from the maintenance team.
10 people with disabilities are in customer service roles.
Employees with partners of the same gender have enjoyed the benefit of tickets since the year 2000.

That is why everyone is welcome regardless of age, belief, race, culture, gender identity, or sexual orientation,” said Renato Covelo, Chief People and Talent Officer.

After completing the painting process, which took around 450 man-hours at the Avianca Aeronautical Maintenance Center (MRO) located in Rionegro – Antioquia, the diversity aircraft began its flights throughout the country on July 3, and during its first itineraries it will connect Avianca travelers to and from Bogotá with Villavicencio, Neiva and Armenia.

Avianca customers flying on the aircraft of diversity will also be able to enjoy one of the company’s commitments to become an airline for all: a capacity of 180 seats to fly around Colombia, which allows reducing the carbon footprint by up to 13%. per passenger, and an offer of new seats that includes the 3 options: Premium, Plus and Economy, available to everyone.
