Argentina: Inauguration of modernization and expansion works at Bariloche Airport
With an investment of $2,542 million, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 and the Regulatory Body of the National Airport System (ORSNA) inaugurated this Monday the modernization and expansion works of the Teniente Luis Candelaria International Airport in San Carlos de Bariloche. The passenger terminal now has a new automatic baggage system, the most modern in the country; a renovated and expanded check-in area; a larger and renovated VIP lounge; new health centers and new commercial and gastronomic premises. In addition, 2 new jetways were incorporated (there will be 3) that include a core that allows disembarking and embarking in remote positions, while the extension of the auxiliary platform is planned in the coming months.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the governor of Río Negro, Arabela Carreras; the president of ORSNA, Carlos Lugones Aignasse; the president of the ANAC, Paola Tamburelli; the president of EANA, Gabriela Logatto; the CEO of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Daniel Ketchibachian; the national deputy director of the PSA, Valeria Endrek; the mayor of Bariloche Enrique Gennuso; national, provincial and council legislators and representatives of business chambers and airlines operating in Bariloche.
Today the airport has a weekly average of 340 domestic and international flights. The number of passengers transported in Bariloche during the first half of this year increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2019.
