Aena, through its subsidiary Aena Desarrollo Internacional, has been awarded in a public auction the concession of 11 airports in Brazil, located in four states (São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Pará) for a period of 30 years , with the possibility of five more years.

The largest of them, Congonhas Airport, is the second busiest in Brazil. It is located in the State of São Paulo, an area of 248,219 km², approximately 50% of Spain, and its population is 46.3 million inhabitants, similar to that of Spain or Argentina, twice that of Chile or four times that of Portugal. These population data offer a huge catchment area. In addition, São Paulo is the largest financial center in Latin America and Brazil, the largest economy in the region and the ninth in the world.

He has highlighted that domestic traffic in Brazil is 100% recovered after the pandemic and, therefore, has concluded: “Brazil’s potential is indisputable.”
