Boeing on Wednesday delivered the first 787 since May 2021, a major milestone for the US planemaker that has faced production problems with its Dreamliner.
American Airlines Chief Executive Robert Isom confirmed the delivery in an Instagram post, saying, “This is the first of nine 787s we expect to receive this year.”

The aircraft, a 787-8, was delivered in Charleston, South Carolina, and is expected to enter commercial service in the coming weeks.
Including this delivery, American currently has 47 active 787 family aircraft in its fleet with an additional 42 on order.
Boeing said the resumption of deliveries follows “thorough engineering analysis, verification and rework activities to ensure all aircraft meet exact specifications and regulatory requirements.”
