Airbus Posts 9% Rise in Aircraft Deliveries Through August, Stays on Track for Full-Year Target
Commercial aircraft deliveries at Airbus rose 9% year-on-year through the first eight months of 2026, keeping the European planemaker well-positioned to meet its full-year guidance despite assembly line snags on the A330 widebody program.
Commercial Tally: 475 Aircraft Delivered from January to August
According to official figures released Monday in the manufacturer’s monthly orders and deliveries bulletin, Airbus handed over 475 commercial aircraft to customers between January and August 2026. This marks a solid improvement from the 434 units delivered over the same period last year.

In the latest monthly breakdown, August performance posted the following figures:
- August deliveries: 57 commercial aircraft handed over during the month.
- August gross sales: 67 aircraft booked, an order intake that includes eight Airbus A350F freighters secured by an undisclosed customer.
- Year-to-date order book: Airbus has accumulated 1,157 gross orders so far this year, which stands at 1,091 net orders after accounting for cancellations.
Fleet Performance: A320 Surge and A330 Resumption
Delivery rates showed divergent trends across the European airframer’s commercial product lines:
A320 Family
The airframer’s benchmark narrowbody program continued to drive output:
- Deliveries of the single-aisle Airbus A320 family rose 11% compared to the prior-year period.
A330 Family
The A330 widebody program faced recent operational setbacks, mirrored in its year-to-date metrics:
- Year to date, Airbus has delivered 11 A330 aircraft in 2026, marking a 31% year-on-year decline.
- Deliveries of the widebody type resumed with a single handover in August, following a two-month pause across June and July prompted by the discovery of a misplaced tool in the tail section of an A330.
For full-year 2026, Airbus is maintaining an official delivery target of 870 aircraft, representing a 10% increase over the 793 airframes delivered last year. With 475 aircraft handed over in the first eight months, the manufacturer remains on course to meet its annual delivery guidance.
