Viva Aerobus reported its preliminary traffic results for July 2022. This month it transported 1.95 million passengers, which represents an increase of 22.8% compared to July 2021 and mainly driven by a 26.3% increase in domestic traffic.
Load factor reached 89.5%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points, reflecting a domestic load factor of 90.1% and an international load factor of 86.8%. Consequently, Viva increased its total capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), by 25.0% compared to July 2021.

Regarding the breakdown by market, the airline grew its capacity by 25.7% in the domestic market and 21.9% in the international market. So far this year (from January to July 2022), Viva has transported 11.38 million passengers, which represents an increase of 41.8% compared to 2021; and with an occupancy factor of 86.5%, an increase of 2.6 percentage points.
“Strong demand continued with the long-awaited summer season, which now started at the end of July compared to previous years, and will run until the end of August. Our load factors recovered to 89.5%, reflecting our commitment to continue growing in a disciplined manner. We remain cautious and closely monitoring the macroeconomic and supply chain environment in managing capacity and providing a good passenger experience,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, General Director of Viva Aerobus.
