Airbus confirmed on Thursday that it had canceled all remaining orders for Qatar Airways‘ A350 planes, raising the stakes in a contract and safety dispute with the Gulf carrier.
“Airbus confirms that it has removed 19 Qatar Airways A350s from the order book,” a spokesman for the manufacturer said.

This dispute dates back to December of last year due to the alleged deterioration of the paint and the erosion of the protective layer of the fuselage of the A350, which the Qataris consider serious for the safety of the planes.
Qatar Airways, one of Airbus’s largest customers, has 53 A350 aircraft in its fleet.
