Avianca indicated that the new routes will be operated on Airbus A320 family aircraft with capacity for at least 150 passengers.
The 7 new routes are: Pereira-Miami-Pereira, Bucaramanga-Miami-Bucaramanga, Santa Marta-Miami-Santa Marta, Pereira-New York-Pereira, Cartagena-Sao Paulo-Cartagena, Cartagena-Santiago-Cartagena, Medellín-Pereira-Medellín.
“With these operations we are thinking of our customers so that they can travel directly, while at the same time making rapid progress in the implementation of point-to-point routes that will allow us to have an even more efficient operation. In addition, thinking about destinations such as Miami and New York or Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile is not only strengthening Avianca’s presence in cities that we have historically flown, but also connecting them with new destinations with great potential. In this way we are encouraging more and more Colombians to travel by air inside and outside Colombia and more tourists from different countries to visit us,” said David Alemán, Avianca’s director of sales for Colombia and South America.
