Bogota’s El Dorado Airport announced that during the month of October, as it did last year, it will change its name to El Rosado. This initiative, in partnership with the AMESE Association, aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of self-examination. This year, under the concept “Don’t turn your back on breast cancer”, it seeks to generate the habit of routine medical consultation, encourage self-care and provide help and advice to those who require it.
According to the Pan American Health Organization, breast cancer is one of the most common causes of death in women in the Americas. In turn, the World Health Organization (WHO) states that between 30% and 50% of cancer deaths could be prevented by modifying or avoiding risk factors and implementing prevention strategies.
→ El Dorado chosen as South America’s leading airport at the World Travel Awards.
El Dorado, together with the AMESE Association, will provide visitors with educational talks on breast cancer and visual resources installed in different areas of the terminal with information on self-examination. This will be in addition to the health brigades that will be carried out in neighboring areas of the airport with breast cancer survivors, to bring this information and resolve all the concerns of the community.
El Dorado continues working to raise awareness of this silent risk that affects the lives of thousands of women and men, and reaffirms its commitment to raise awareness of the need to prevent and protect health.
