Viva Aerobus announces new seasonal route between AIFA and Tijuana

Viva Aerobus announced its new winter season route from the new Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) in Mexico City to Tijuana, one of the airline’s six operating bases.

Tickets for the AIFA – Tijuana route are now on sale and the service will be available from December 14, 2022 to January 10, 2023 with a daily frequency. On the same date, Viva Aerobus will also inaugurate its first international route from AIFA to Havana, Cuba, which will operate regularly with a daily flight. All of these flights will be operated with the newest fleet in Mexico, and the third newest in North America, comprised of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft with an average age of only 5 years.

“We now connect Tijuana with both the new Mexico City airport, Felipe Angeles, and the AICM, thus deploying a range of options so that passengers can choose how it is more comfortable, agile and convenient for them to fly; of course, always with the lowest prices and in the newest aircraft,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

Mexico authorizes commercial alliance between Allegiant Air and Viva Aerobus.

According to the airline, the AIFA -Tijuana route serves the connectivity needs between two cities that stand out as key commercial and cultural centers in Mexico during a high-demand season. This service not only expands flight options between the northwest and south-central regions of the country, but also facilitates travel between Mexico and the United States.

Viva Aerobus provides its passengers with facilities so they can take advantage of the Cross Border Express (CBX), the pedestrian bridge that connects the Tijuana Airport with San Diego, in order to cross the busiest border in the world quickly and safely. Passengers can purchase their CBX ticket through the airline’s official channels as well as purchase Viva services at the ticket counters inside the CBX.

The airline currently offers a total of eight routes from AIFA, flying to Acapulco, Cancun, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca and, soon, to Tijuana and Havana.

In addition, the airline already has 11 routes to/from Tijuana, flying to AICM, Cancun, Culiacan, Guadalajara, Leon, Morelia, Monterrey, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and now to AIFA.
