The Civil Aeronautics of Colombia (Aerocivil) informed this Friday that next Thursday, November 24, it will hold a public hearing in which it will present to interested parties the increase of the aeronautical offer for the country.
JetSmart Airlines requested authorization from Aerocivil to establish itself as a Regular Public Transport operator, to provide domestic passenger, cargo and mail transport service on 111 routes between the airports of Bogotá, Barranquilla, Apartadó, Arauca, Armenia, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Medellín, Cúcuta, Leticia, Montería, Neiva, Pereira, Pasto, San Andrés, Yopal, Santa Marta, Valledupar, Villavicencio, Riohacha and Florencia.

Aerorepública (Wingo) requested authorization to operate the routes (Bogotá and/or Medellín and/or Cali and/or Cali and/or Cartagena and/or Barranquilla and/or Armenia) – Panama – Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and the route (Bogotá and/or Medellín and/or Cali and/or Cali and/or Cartagena and/or Barranquilla and/or Armenia) – Panama – Managua, Nicaragua.
Avianca also requested the operation of the Bogotá – Palmerola, Honduras – Bogotá route.
According to the Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Francisco Reyes González, “this is an excellent sign of confidence in the national air market and in the growth projections for national and international air connectivity. We have been having a sustained upward curve after the pandemic and now we have great possibilities to continue expanding the country’s connectivity, and in turn the connectivity with the region and the world”.
