Colombia’s Satena made its first flight to Venezuela
This Wednesday, the Colombian state-owned airline Satena made its first flight between Bogota and Maiquetia International Airport, which serves the city of Caracas.
Satena’s first international flight was operated with an Embraer ERJ145, with capacity for 50 passengers. On board was the Colombian Minister of Transportation, Guillermo Reyes, according to the airline.

“We have a flight almost full of Colombians and Venezuelans returning to their country or going for tourism and business. It is the formal opening of Colombia’s air operation to Venezuela and the great bet of the Government of President Gustavo Petro,” said Reyes.
Satena announced last Saturday that it will offer a new route between Barranquilla and Caracas from November 28, which will operate four weekly frequencies (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
The airline’s direct flight between Bogota and Caracas was only scheduled to operate this Wednesday, it is not known if the route between both capitals will operate with a stopover in Barranquilla or if new direct frequencies will be added.
