Emirates resumes flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires

Emirates resumed on Wednesday its flights to two South American destinations, Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The route will operate four weekly frequencies on Boeing 777 aircraft.

Emirates begins multi-million dollar program to modernize its fleet.

Flight EK247 departs Dubai at 08:05 and lands in Rio de Janeiro at 15:25. After a stopover of 1 hour and 45 minutes, it continues its journey to Argentina at 17:10, arriving in Buenos Aires at 20:40. Flight EK248 takes off from Ezeiza International Airport at 22:20 and arrives in Rio de Janeiro at 01:10 the following day. At 02:55 it continues its journey to Dubai, where it is expected to land at 23:35.

With the resumption of services to Argentina, which first began in 2012, Emirates recovers more than 90% of its pre-pandemic network, comprising more than 130 destinations.
