An Airbus A380 of Australian airline Qantas, flying Friday from Singapore to London, was diverted to Baku, Azerbaijan, due to a technical problem in the cockpit.
“Our flight from Singapore to London has made an unscheduled landing at Baku airport in Azerbaijan after pilots received an intermittent cockpit fault indicator,” a Qantas spokesman said.

“Engineers will inspect the plane before it continues its journey.”
The spokesman later added that the pilots were alerted to the possibility of smoke in the cargo hold.
“Although it was considered likely to be a sensor failure, the aircraft was diverted to Baku as a safety precaution. Initial investigations have found no evidence of smoke in the cargo hold,” the airline spokesman added.
According to a Facebook update from Baku airport, there were 356 passengers on board the flight.
