Aerolineas Argentinas to incorporate two Boeing 737-800 freighters

Aerolíneas Argentinas signed this Thursday an agreement through which it will transport the cargoes operated by Mirgor S.A.

In parallel to the agreement, Aerolíneas Argentinas made progress in the incorporation of two Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft with capacity to transport 22 tons within Argentina and the region. The aircraft will arrive during the first quarter of 2023.

Thus, by 2023, the airline aims to grow in the cargo transportation business with aircraft configured 100% for this purpose. In this first stage of operations, Mirgor will be its main partner, using part of the cargo capacity of the new aircraft.

In Mirgor’s case, the agreement will enable it to further enhance its logistics capabilities and strengths and serve its customers better and faster. The company already has its own logistics center, with the aim of meeting the logistics needs for the product commercialization process. This center, located in Garín, has almost 24,000m² of floor space, 8,300 pallet positions of different configurations, 3,000m² of block storage, 10 loading and 15 unloading docks, electronic security, and 24-hour monitoring.

During 2022, Aerolíneas Argentinas transported more than 1 million kilos of Chilean salmon from El Calafate to the United States, more than 140 tons of cherries on recent special flights to Doha, as well as seeds, meat and other products to Madrid, Miami, Rome and other international destinations using the idle capacity of the holds on its passenger flights, so the new aircraft will significantly increase cargo transport capacity.
