Venezuela to end Covid-19 testing at airports on Dec. 31
Venezuela will stop testing for covid-19 at airports this December 31, so people entering the country will not need to pay for this test that has been mandatory since 2020, according to the president of the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC), Juan Teixeira, informed this Saturday.
“As of December 31 of this year already the biosecurity protocol for Covid-19 is going to eliminate the PCR test that we used to do at airports to all passengers entering the country,” Teixeira announced.

He considered that this measure “is good news for the air sector” since it eliminates a tax charge of 60 dollars on international tickets to Venezuela, for the payment of the test to be carried out upon landing.
In March 2020, Venezuela suspended all international flights due to the pandemic, a measure that the Government began to relax at the end of that year with some frequencies allowed under strict controls.
The country’s air connectivity doubled in 2022, compared to last year, and authorities expect it to continue growing, especially after resuming frequencies to traditional destinations such as Spain and Colombia.
