Air France-KLM CEO Ben Smith reiterated Friday that the group is interested in the soon-to-be-privatized Portuguese airline TAP, highlighting the carrier’s strong position in Brazil.
“TAP’s network in Brazil seems extremely powerful to us,” he told a press conference.

The Portuguese government, which owns TAP, has stated that it is studying the total or partial sale of the company.
Lufthansa, Air France-KLM and IAG, owner of British Airways, are among the possible buyers, according to analysts.
