Canada’s Porter Airlines celebrated its first flights with the new Embraer E195-E2 from Toronto Pearson Airport to Ottawa and Montreal-Trudeau.

The introduction of the E195-E2 on these routes, which are also served by Dash 8-400s at Billy Bishop Airport, means passengers have more options when traveling to and from the Greater Toronto Area. With this expansion, Porter will be the only airline with full networks at both major airports in Ontario’s provincial capital.

This month, the airline will launch additional flights from Pearson Airport, starting with Vancouver (February 7), Edmonton (February 14), Calgary (February 22) and Halifax (February 23).

The airline intends to be present in the major cities of Eastern Canada – Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax – which will connect the entire continent with the West Coast, the southern U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean.

Porter debuted the E195-E2 with a 132-seat economy configuration and fast, free WiFi for all passengers.

The airline has ordered up to 100 E195-E2 aircraft, including 50 firm deliveries scheduled for the next two years.
