The Colombian Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil) informed this Wednesday, through a press release, that the Directorate of Air Transport and Aerocommercial Affairs issued Resolution 00815 on April 25, 2023, in which it confirmed the conditional approval of the integration operation between Avianca and Viva Air.
The conditions:
– Respect the rights of Viva Air users, reimburse them for tickets for cancelled flights and allow those with reservations pending to fly.
– The return of slots, both in departures and arrivals, in order to guarantee competitive conditions through the efficient use of the infrastructure of El Dorado Airport.

– Maintain Viva Air’s Low Cost scheme as an option that offers alternatives to air transport service users, especially in those routes served only by that airline.
– The return of frequencies on the Bogota – Buenos Aires route, which is particularly impacted, without affecting the supply of seats, opening the possibility for new entrants.
– Maintain an effective fare ceiling in those routes where the integrated entity has 100% participation and also guarantee the dynamism in the routes subject to greater concentration.
According to the press release, the appeals filed by Avianca, Viva, Wingo, Ultra Air and Jetsmart airlines were resolved.
