Aerolineas Argentinas adds more than 60 frequencies to its domestic routes

Aerolíneas Argentinas announced this Saturday a significant increase of flights on several of its domestic routes for the second quarter of the year.

The company informed that it will add more than 60 new frequencies, which translates into an increase of more than 8,000 seats. These numbers represent 10% more than what was offered in 2022 and looking ahead to the next 3 months, it means a growth that will go from 2% in April, to 4% in May and reaching in June, to an increase of 12% in the total supply of seats compared to 2019.

As of Monday, 11 destinations will have a new flight schedule for the coming months:

Catamarca

From April, it will increase from 9 to 11 weekly frequencies in the direct route with Buenos Aires and in the combination Catamarca – La Rioja – Buenos Aires. For the second quarter of the year, it will add one more flight, reaching 12. Additionally, as announced by the company some days ago, an adjustment was made that will benefit Catamarca citizens with better fares.

Comodoro Rivadavia

The route between Comodoro Rivadavia and Buenos Aires will increase from 23 weekly frequencies to 29 as from April and will end the second quarter with 35 weekly frequencies. The route between Comodoro Rivadavia – Neuquén will maintain 6 weekly frequencies. The flight with Cordoba will continue with its 4 flights per week. Likewise, 3 weekly frequencies will be maintained on the routes to Trelew and Río Gallegos, which are part of the recovered Atlantic Corridor.

Córdoba

The main route with Buenos Aires currently has 66 weekly frequencies, a new frequency will be added in April and then in May it will increase to 83 and in June, to 87 weekly frequencies.

The route with Neuquén adds a new frequency and will increase to 6 weekly frequencies in April.

Aerolineas Argentinas increases flights to Madrid and Rome

The rest of the routes that make up the “Hub Córdoba” will continue with the same flight offer of the summer, that is, 71 weekly frequencies distributed among Bariloche, El Calafate, Iguazú, Jujuy, Mar del Plata, Mendoza, Salta, Tucumán, Ushuaia, Comodoro Rivadavia, Resistencia/Corrientes, Trelew, Posadas and San Juan. Also, the route with Sao Paulo maintains its two weekly flights.

Iguazú

The route between Iguazú and Buenos Aires ends March with 47 weekly frequencies, 2 will be added in April and will reach 50 as from May.

The routes to Córdoba, Rosario, Tucumán and Jujuy maintain the same schedule of 16 weekly frequencies distributed among the 4 destinations.

Neuquén

The route with Buenos Aires adds a good number of frequencies: it will increase from 34 to 37 weekly frequencies in April. While between May and June it will operate 46 weekly frequencies.

The route with Cordoba adds a new frequency and will increase to 6 weekly frequencies during April. The route to Mendoza also adds a new frequency and another one from May onwards, thus reaching 6 weekly frequencies.

Mendoza

The route between Buenos Aires and Mendoza, which has 63 weekly flights, will increase to 68 in May and will reach 70 in June. Flights will also be added to the route with Neuquén, as already mentioned.

Another important announcement for the province is the continuity of the route with Mar del Plata beyond the summer season, being now a regular flight with 2 weekly frequencies.

It should be recalled that since March the new direct route to Sao Paulo has been active. This flight operates 2 weekly frequencies. The rest of the routes to and from Mendoza maintain their summer offer.

Parana

The route between Paraná and Buenos Aires will increase from 5 to 7 weekly frequencies as from April and then from May onwards two more will be added, reaching 9 flights per week.

Salta

The route with Buenos Aires that in March operated 40 weekly frequencies will increase to 42 in April, in May to 48 frequencies and then in June to 49.

In addition, it maintains the summer frequencies for the routes with Córdoba, Rosario, Neuquén and Iguazú. Likewise, it is operating the route to Sao Paulo on a weekly basis.

San Juan

The route between Buenos Aires and San Juan will increase to 16 flights in April, adding one more frequency than in March, then in May to 18 and then to 20 in June. The route with Cordoba remains with 4 weekly flights.

Santa Fe

The route with Buenos Aires ended March with 8 weekly frequencies, it will increase to 9 during April and from May onwards it will be 12 weekly flights.

Tucumán

The route with Buenos Aires will start in April with 36 weekly flights, the same number as in March. During May it will increase to 40 weekly frequencies and then in June to 42. Meanwhile, the route with Cordoba maintains 4 weekly frequencies and the route with Iguazu continues with 2 weekly frequencies.

“In all cases, we are significantly exceeding the offer with respect to the first quarter of the year, as well as with respect to 2022 and 2019. These flights are part of the daily work we do in Aerolíneas to meet the needs of each destination, under the premise of contributing and accompanying the economic development of the country”, explained Pablo Ceriani, president of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

In addition to the aforementioned increases between April and June, for Easter, the company anticipates an expanded offer with between 5% and 10% more seats than in 2019.
