Germán Umaña, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, announced the signing of the alliance with the aeronautical company Airbus, after five proposals made by this company to the Colombian government, according to Portafolio.
The head of the portfolio explained that this union will be signed by President Gustavo Petro in Spain, where the president will go in early May 2023.
According to Umaña, one of Airbus’ proposals is aimed at the manufacture of aircraft parts and everything related to shipyards.

“There are five proposals, but the shortest term one is an investment of 300 million euros by Airbus. With it, and with the Colombian Air Force (FAC) industry they are going to manufacture the propellers and all the structures of the national industry with a technological unbundling, a technology transfer, an engineering training and exclusivity to produce that for the world,” said Umaña.
Another proposal that stands out is the replacement of green hydrogen fuels for airplanes and the manufacture of aerospace parts and pieces.
