JetSMART informed this Thursday that it began the certification stage as an air operator in Colombia.
At this stage, JetSMART representatives are working closely with the delegates of the Aeronautical Authority to conduct the certification process of technical, operational, airport and human requirements to carry out the proposed operation. In accordance with current regulations and the agreed schedule, the required stages will be completed in order to obtain the aforementioned certification, in the same way as it has done previously in Chile, Argentina and Peru, and as part of its growth project in South America.

According to the Resolution of AEROCIVIL which endorses the beginning of the certification process, JetSMART is authorized to advance in its certification for the provision of its services in the airports of Bogota, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Medellin, Cucuta, Monteria, Pereira, Pasto, San Andres and Santa Marta.
“We are aware of the challenges facing commercial aviation in the region and particularly in Colombia. In the midst of this situation, we know that the most important thing is and continues to be satisfying the needs of our passengers, and this is what we are focused on at JetSMART. That is why we will spare no effort to offer them a safe, agile, efficient and affordable service for everyone, as we have been doing since 2017 in Chile, Peru and Argentina,” said JetSMART CEO and President Estuardo Ortiz.
According to the expansion plan JetSMART will start domestic operations in Colomba, starting in the last quarter of 2023, with a progressive growth in line with its fleet incorporation.
