Air New Zealand has been awarded, for the seventh time since 2013, as the “World’s Best Airline in 2023” for its in-flight innovations, such as SkyNest economy beds, its operational safety, environmental leadership and staff motivation.
The New Zealand airline beat Qatar Airways (winner in 2021, 2022) which came in second place, Etihad Airways in third, Korean Airlines in fourth and Singapore Airlines in fifth place.
The AirlineRatings.com awards combine important safety and governmental audits with 12 key criteria including: fleet age, passenger feedback, profitability, investment rate, product offering and staff relations.

Air New Zealand won Best Economy Class while Qatar Airways picked up Best Business Class for the fourth year running and Best Catering.
Singapore Airlines won Best First Class, while Virgin Australia/Virgin Atlantic won Best Cabin Crew.
Best-In-Flight Entertainment and Best Premium Economy went to Emirates, while Qantas picked up Best Lounges.
Air Baltic picked up Best Regional Airline.

AirlineRatings.com Best Low-Cost Airlines are; Americas – Southwest, Middle East – Fly Dubai, Asia – AirAsia, Australia/Pacific – Jetstar and Europe – Ryanair.
Vietjet picked up two awards; Best Ultra Low-Cost Airline and Best Low-Cost Airline Onboard Hospitality which recognizes the amazing value of its onboard offering.
