Following the letter of intent issued in March, Volotea and Eurowings formalize the signing of their strategic agreement, the two companies announced Wednesday.
The commercial partnership covers the sale of 150 European routes operated by both airlines on each other’s website. These include 104 routes offered by Eurowings and 46 by Volotea. Since the route networks of the two airlines do not overlap, the partnership will result in a significant growth of the flight offerings both from Volotea’s website and on the website of Germany’s largest holiday airline.

Among the connections are eight new routes operated by Volotea, which will directly connect German airports such as Berlin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart with French and Italian cities from the end of May or mid-October. Thus, in the future it will also be possible to reach Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Florence and Verona nonstop from Germany via Volotea.
“We are delighted to make our agreement with Eurowings official and extend our reach to the German market, an important step in our growth plans in Europe,” commented Carlos Muñoz, founder and CEO of Volotea.
“The partnership with Volotea is another milestone on our path towards strengthening the “Euro” in the Eurowings brand. From now on, our customers will benefit from a much wider offer of direct economy flights within Europe,” said Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings.
