U.S. manufacturer Boeing announced a $100 million investment in infrastructure and pilot training programs in India.
This announcement comes after Air India last week signed firm orders for more than 220 aircraft from Boeing, including 20 787 Dreamliners, 10 777Xs and 190 737 MAXs. The order also includes an option for an additional 70 aircraft.

“Boeing is proud to be playing a key role in the rapid expansion of India’s commercial aviation market, and in the mission readiness and modernization of the nation’s defense forces,” said Boeing President and CEO David L. Calhoun.
The development also comes along with a flurry of deals signed by U.S. and Indian companies on the sidelines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden in Washington on Thursday.
