SWISS to Elevate Premium Experience at Zurich Airport with New Lounges by 2027
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is set to overhaul its lounge offering at Zurich Airport with the opening of its new Business and Senator Lounges in the first quarter of 2027.
Strategic Relocation to Dock B and Spatial Expansion
As part of Zurich Airport’s Dock A replacement program, the carrier will relocate both lounges to a newly constructed facility situated south of Dock B.
The new complex will assign a dedicated, full-floor layout to each of the two lounges, totaling a combined footprint of 2,600 square meters. This development represents an approximate 20% expansion in floor space compared to the existing operational facilities in Dock A.
Decommissioning of Dock A Facilities and Enhanced Amenities
Following the commissioning of the new infrastructure in Q1 2027, SWISS will permanently decommission its current Dock A lounges.
The architectural layout of the new facilities focuses on elevating the passenger experience for corporate and high-yield travelers through the following specifications:
- Architecture and Lighting: Open-concept space featuring a continuous glass facade designed to maximize natural daylight while offering panoramic views of the apron, runways, and the Alps.
- Soundproof Workspace Infrastructure: Approximately 20 fully soundproofed individual workstations distributed across both lounges.
- Optimized Passenger Flow: Direct positioning above the bus gates to streamline transit times for passengers boarding flights at remote stands.

Exclusive Enhancements at the SWISS Senator Lounge
The new SWISS Senator Lounge will feature bespoke elements highlighting premium gastronomy and Swiss heritage:
- Panoramic Bar: A dedicated bar area positioned directly against the window front, providing 180-degree views of Runway 34, the apron, and the Alps.
- Gastronomic Curing Chamber: A custom wine humidor and aging space designed for the storage and service of selected regional cheeses and cured meats.

Relocation of SWISS First and HON Circle Lounges
In a subsequent phase tied to Zurich Airport’s ongoing modernization project, SWISS plans to relocate both its SWISS First Lounge and dedicated HON Circle Lounge from Dock A to Dock B in 2028. Technical specifications for this phase will be disclosed at a later date.
