Colombia: El Dorado emigration zone expansion begins

In order to improve processes and the experience of travelers transiting through Bogota’s El Dorado Airport, a project to expand the emigration area located on the second floor of the international departures area began on Monday. This will increase the current space by 442 m2.

The adjustments will be carried out in five phases over the next three months and will not affect the normal operation and flow of passengers in this area. During the first phase, the information point will be relocated a few meters forward to begin the necessary work on the space.

Passengers will continue to enter through the usual entrances and visitors will find the appropriate signage to begin the process of leaving the country.

“These adjustments are part of our strategy focused on improving the passenger experience at El Dorado. In addition to the infrastructure improvement, which will give us greater capacity in the international departures area, we will increase the number of facial biometrics and boarding pass reading equipment to speed up the passage of travelers through this area of the airport,” said Natalí Leal, General Manager of OPAIN.

This project is part of the continuous improvement of El Dorado Airport in order to provide better service and facilitate the transit of more than 36 million passengers that transit through the air terminal.
