LATAM and Delta announce new joint routes between the U.S. and South America

LATAM Airlines Group and Delta Air Lines will add four routes to their global connectivity networks as part of the strategic JV agreement between the leading airlines in the Americas.

LATAM Colombia will launch new daily service between Miami and Medellin starting October 29. On the same day, LATAM Peru will introduce thrice-weekly flights between its Lima hub and Delta’s Atlanta hub. LATAM’s first route to the Georgia state capital will be complementary to Delta’s current daily service, and will operate with Boeing 767 aircraft.

In addition, Delta will relaunch service between Atlanta and Cartagena, Colombia. The route will begin on December 22 and will offer three weekly flights on Boeing 737 aircraft. The U.S. airline will also add a second daily flight between Atlanta and Bogota, Colombia, beginning October 28.

The routes will be available for booking starting June 17 on both airlines’ websites.

“The mission of the commercial agreement between Delta and LATAM group is to make travel between certain countries in North and South America easier and more enjoyable, bringing the continents closer than ever before,” said Alex Antilla, Delta’s vice president for Latin America. “We are grateful for the response from customers who are choosing Delta and LATAM Group.

“We are very pleased with the new route between Miami and Medellin announced by LATAM Airlines Colombia, one of Colombia’s main financial, industrial and commercial hubs. At the same time, LATAM Airlines Peru’s service between Lima and Delta’s main hub in Atlanta also reinforces our joint commitment to deliver more and better connectivity options for customers,” said Martin St. George, LATAM Airlines Group Commercial Vice President.

The strategic JV agreement between the LATAM group and Delta has resulted in the best connectivity networks in the industry, linking the more than 120 South American destinations served by the LATAM group with the more than 200 North American destinations served by Delta.
