Luxair and Boeing announced Wednesday at the Paris Air Show 2023 that the Luxembourg airline has selected the 737-7 to continue its single-aisle fleet growth strategy.
In selecting the 737-7, Luxair will become the aircraft’s European launch customer with a four-jet purchase agreement.

Since March 2023, Luxair has placed orders for four 737-8s. Today’s announcement brings the airline’s firm orders for the 737 to eight. The carrier will also initially lease two 737-8s, scheduled for summer 2023.
Akasa Air announced an order for four additional 737-8 aircraft. The airline, which began operations in 2022, has rapidly increased its market share and fleet to 19 aircraft across 16 destinations to support the rapidly growing market in India.
With this order for four additional aircraft, the Indian airline’s order book increases to 76 aircraft, which includes 23 737-8s and 53 high-capacity 737-8-200s.
