Turkish Cargo becomes third largest air cargo operator in the world
Turkish Cargo, the airline cargo brand of Turkish Airlines, ranked third among the world’s leading air cargo carriers, following its excellent performance in May.
The company, which ranked 5th in the same period last year according to monthly data released by the International Air Transport Association, became one of the top 3 air cargo carriers by outperforming major brands in the Americas, Europe and the Far East during May 2023.
According to FTK (Freight Tonne Kilometers), derived by multiplying tons of cargo transported via air by kilometers flown, Turkish Cargo increased its tonnage by 17% compared to the previous month, while raising its market share to 5.4% from 4.7% by increasing it by 0.8 points compared to April.
“We, as Turkish Cargo, continue to strengthen our leading position in the industry in line with our goal to continuously grow and improve. We recognize these achievements as a commitment to our future goals and work harder to add more value to the air cargo sector,” commented Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Dr. Ahmet Bolat.
