Volaris El Salvador is launching a new San Salvador-Guatemala-Chicago route, which will begin operating on November 3, 2023, the airline announced in a press release.
The route will operate three weekly frequencies on Airbus A320 aircraft.
The flight will depart San Salvador at 15:53, arriving in Guatemala at 16:48. One hour later it will depart for Chicago, where it will land at 23:00 (local time).

It will take off from O’Hare Airport at 00:30, arriving in Guatemala City at 04:56, and then take off at 05:56 for San Salvador, where it will land at 06:46 (local time).
“With this route, operated exclusively by Volaris El Salvador, we will meet the high demand of Central American passengers who want to visit the United States and strengthen social and economic ties between the two regions. According to the Migration Policy Institute, there is a community of more than 25,000 Guatemalans and close to 11,000 Salvadorans living in Illinois, Chicago,” said Omar Carrera, commercial director of Volaris.
Volaris El Salvador currently offers flights from San Salvador to seven U.S. cities: New York (JFK), Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Houston, Oakland, Miami (MIA) and Ontario, California.
