Akasa Air becomes first Asian airline to take delivery of Boeing 737 MAX 8-200
Akasa Air on Tuesday became the first Asian airline to add the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 to its fleet, marking an important milestone in its growth and expansion plans.
“The historic addition of the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 to our fleet heralds the international chapter of growth in Akasa’s history. Going from 0 to 20 aircraft in 12 months is not just an airline record, but a record that encapsulates India’s potential,” commented Vinay Dube, Founding CEO of Akasa Air.

The airline has an order for 80 aircraft, including 23 737-8s and 57 737-8-200s, to be delivered within five years.
The 737 MAX 8-200 is a variant based on the 737 MAX 8 that can accommodate up to 200 seats.
In just one year, the Indian airline has carried four million passengers on 35 routes to 16 cities with more than 900 weekly flights.
